Music To Walk To

artcrawl.gifWeeks like this Torontoist would be remiss if he forced you to stay inside and look at art. So let's take this week's art crawl outside.

The Yo-Yo Ma endorsed, Bach-inspired Toronto Music Garden is probably one of the best non-traditional park spaces in the city.

The six parts of the garden are inspired by the Bach cello suites and combines Baroque music, 17th century dance and native plants and rocks. The city also offers guided tours and free concerts at the garden. We sense a killer picnic spot.

If you must check out art in a gallery this week, head down to MOCCA for Demons Stole My Soul, an exploration of drums in contemporary art. Next door the Edward Day Gallery shows paintings by Drew Harris inspired by the life and work of Glenn Gould. The kicker? Harris lives in the Toronto pianists' St. Clair W. studio.

that garden looks awesome.

It's pretty awesome.... getting to it can be a pain b/c you have to cross lakeshore, but I think it's ttcable from union station.

Also, picnic basket, sunset, classical music + special friend..... need I say more.
