Ist List: Best Used CD Store # 2

Counting down the best of the used...

flashandcrash.gif2. Flash & Crash Music (499 Bloor W)
By leaps and bounds, this is the best place in the city for rare, left-of-centre music. The good finds are in the three-row section at the front of the store, which will include titles like the Godspeed's first, Magnetic Fields, Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted and Stereolab's Emperor Tomato Ketchup for at least a fiver off the new price. Pricing is fairly standard ($9.99-$10.99), so there's little threat of a rip-off. The only qualm with Flash and Crash - which can also work as a charm for some - is the smaller size. (The store is basically a closet, albeit a walk-in closet.) Always a good mix of old, new and interesting. Also buy ten cd's and get one gratis.

Number One coming up...
