Did Somebody Drop a Bomb?

2005_03_04zoobombs.gifEven before the great Chuck D warned us not to believe the hype, there was an air of skepticism around the ME-dia’s recommendations. The problems surrounding media hype, especially during festivals like CMW, is that most media outlets make it very clear which acts are worth seeing – and most people believe it. It doesn’t sound like a problem, that is until no one can actually get in to see the bands that receive hype. Torontoist thinks this is fairly obvious, but is mentioning it anyway.
On that note, the best chance to see Japan’s Zoobombs!, along side all kinds of excitable media types, is late late night on SATURDAY at the Comfort Zone. That’s not tonight. Torontoist only tells you that because we care. And it’s not like it’s a secret. Listen to the Zoobombs – “Mo’Funky” (in real audio).
(And Sofi will be there, because she told us about it.)

The Zoobombs will actually be at the Silver Dollar tonight (Friday). The Comfort Zone show is happening on Saturday night (which, incidentally, is the show I’ll be attending. I’m very much looking forward to my free bottle of 50, Josh.)

Go either night! The opening acts are good both nights: The creeping nobodies tonight and the Two Koreas tommorow.
