Val Kilmer Fans Deface City Property

2005_01_06kilmerart.gif
Toronto authorities have officially closed the case on the recent mystery known as the ‘Val Kilmer Tagging Caper.’ Police became concerned after thousands of pictures and tags of Hollywood hot-stuff Val Kilmer were plastered all over the downtown core. After much investigation, it turns out a local band by the name of The Val Kilmer Tagging Caper were responsible for the litany of Kilmer propaganda, and have since agreed to stop. The American actor, best known for roles in The Saint, Top Secret! and Willow, was apparently just a red herring.

Funny you mention the Val Kilmer tags around the city….yesterday a group of Japanese tourists were FREAKING OUT over the massive shrine-wall of Kilmer’s face on one of the west walls in the big parking lot at Queen and Portland….taking pictures, marvelling at the artistry…
the cops shouldn’t make a stink, although i guess it’s a somewhat slanderous form of graffiti….but hey, it’s better than a blank dirty old wall.

Has anyone actually heard of VKTC? I’ve found one blogger who claims to have found their album (at an HMV in Oakville??); no other mention exists on the web.
It’s very exciting that someone’s proposed an answer to this question which we’ve all for months been asking, but is our curiosity really satisfied so easily?

It isn’t that band that’s been doing it, they’re just taking credit. So lame. Trust me, it’s not over.

Personally, i would like to know who does those Post No Bills stencils, with Cosby, Murray, Clinton and I forget. I love them.

I’d still love to see some evidence that this band isn’t the (albeit clever) fictional creation of an Oakville blogger.

I think this explanation is incorrect. Val Kilmer is a local graph artist he had work at the recent art show “Unoffical Languages” at a Richmond St. Gallery called Shift.
